A Vision of Youth Ministry captured the dynamics of ministry with adolescents through the story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus (see Lk 24:13–35). This story became a guiding image for ministry with its emphasis on the relationship between young disciples and their Lord, a relationship characterized by presence, listening, faith sharing, and celebration. The Emmaus story will continue to guide the Church's ministry with adolescents... today [Jesus] sends out young people to proclaim the Good News and to build a world that is more just, more peaceful and more respectful of human life and creation.

Youth Ministry at Christ the King

Welcome to the youth ministry pages at Christ the King. Information regarding all youth ministry programs can be found on this page.

Youth ministry at Christ the King looks to meet the social, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of high school and middle school youth.

The Emmaus Program is for high school teens. Emmaus meets most Sunday evenings throughout the year in the youth room. Catechesis, mission trips, participation in the March for Life, retreats, scripture study, and social activities draw young people into the life and mission of the church, while strengthening their discipleship in our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The Journey Middle School Program awaits middle school youth. Currently, the largest component of this ministry falls within the realm of athletics. The program is on hiatus for the summer will pick up again in the fall.
